Although you can make diy structural wood beams or glulam timbers yourself they are highly engineered components. Insert screws into the holes and remember to place the tiles on the bolts before attaching nuts. Tags make your own glulam beams. Making a glulam beam is not a diy project.

A glulam beam is sections of wood sometimes up to 50 cut lengthwise and glued together with an epoxy resin compound. Allow the wood to dry for 24 hours before using the newly glue laminated beam.
